Grand Canyon on a Snow Day

Canyon Turquoise
42 x 28 inches, oil on linen, sold

Whenever I stand at the edge of the Grand Canyon, I am humbled and honored. The moment is profound and I am inspired to paint my experience but there is never enough canvas! Curt Walters, master artist of the Grand Canyon is doing really big paintings these days - I wonder if he feels the same way.

Monument Valley

Windsong
24 x 48 inches, oil on canvas, $6500

I can't remember a time when I've been in Monument Valley and there was no wind. It's usually whipping my hair around, pounding in my ears, pushing and shoving. Look up and you may see a hawk, wings outstretched almost suspended in midair, happily taking advantage of the volatile current. How is the view from up there?

Inspired by Poetry and My Trip to Jackson Hole

The Ballet Weaves
30 x 40 inches, oil on canvas
This painting was inspired by a line from a Donna Lansing poem, "the ballet weaves",
I can almost hear the rhythm of slippers hitting the stage.
